The CIIE is hosted by the Ministry of Commerce of the People's Republic of China and the Shanghai Municipal Government and is the world’s largest import themed national expo for consumer products. With the world's largest population, China is the second largest economy, as well as the second largest importer and consumer in the world. The event focuses on consumer products, health products and the service industry.

After you return from the mission, you may also wish to apply for the Alberta Export Expansion Program, which provides funding to help cover the costs of travel to formal international trade events.
