Alberta-Kuwait Relations
- Kuwait was allocated some 50 scholarships for university studies in Canada, and interest is growing in Canada as a destination of choice for post-secondary education.
- There has been a mutually-supportive pattern of political cooperation between Canada and Kuwait, based largely on a commonality of views and interests.
- In May 2017, Pembina and PIC executed a 50/50 joint venture on a proposed integrated propylene and polypropylene production facility in Sturgeon County, Alberta. The new entity is Canada Kuwait Petrochemical Corporation (CKPC).
- April 2016 – Pembina Pipeline Corporation announced a joint feasible study with Petrochemical Industries Company K.S.C. (“Pic”), a subsidiary of Kuwait Petroleum Corporation, for evaluating a world-scale combined propane dehydrogenation (“PDH”) and polypropylene upgrading facility in Alberta.
