- Malaysia’s “Vision 2020”, a national development plan, calls for Malaysia to be a fully developed nation by the year 2020. The goal can be met only by continuing to attract foreign trade.
- Malaysia is one of 11 signatories to the Comprehensive and Progressive Trans-Pacific Partnership trade agreement with
Canada. - Between 2013 and 2017, 349 citizens of Malaysia became Permanent Residents of Canada, with Alberta as their intended destination. Approximately 64% were economic immigrants, including principal applicants, spouses, and dependents.
